“Kiss this Town began life around 1999 but remained unfinished, and consequently did not make the second iNsuRge Album Globalisation. The song was further developed by Chris Dubrow around 2006, then Monique Wakelin recorded straight over the top of the original Dubrow vocal around 2010, which made her voice the lead. This was considered a happy accident as the band felt Monique's vocal delivery and new melody substantially improved the song. It's a little gentler than much of the iNsuRge work, but reflects the diversity of the band. Monique Wakelin later bravely battled serious illness and subsequently died in 2018, so this track turned out to be the last thing iNsuRge members completed together.”
